Candy

In Fashion, Magazine on December 30, 2010 at 12:05 PM

in the first issue of Candy Magazine, a transversal style magazine, Grace Coddington and Anna Wintour-esq transvestites act out the life of the Vogue Dictators in “The Devil Wears Anna”. although this issue came out a year ago i just couldn’t resist sharing this homage to the most powerful team in fashion.

look how spot on it all is. the bob, the glasses, the high necked dresses with well-placed necklaces. Grace’s shoes and, actually, her whole demeanor.

enjoy.

Carine

In Fashion, Magazine on December 21, 2010 at 5:40 PM

the jaw dropping announcement made last friday that Paris Vogue Editor in Chief Carine Roitfeld was resigning, effective this January, was met with questions of who would take her place, where was she going, and why?

after 10 years at the helm of the magazine, Carine publicly states she is ready to move on to new projects and that she is really a freelancer at heart .it was only time until rumors began circulating. Is she really taking over Anna Wintour’s spot? that has long been denied, yet it comes up again. was she fired for the scandalous shoot with children dressed as adults? is she moving on to work with Tom Ford again?

Really, who cares? Carine is leaving, and although she will obviously go on to bigger and better things (hopefully things her loyal subjects will be able to witness), the french publication will suffer. I’m looking forward to her next move, but wish people would let her do it in her own time.

check out my style stalked post to see more of Carine.

look book

In Look book on December 21, 2010 at 4:57 PM

i am such a fan of grandpa sweaters. ask anyone. i would like one day to have a separate closet filled from top to bottom in scruffy, man sized grandpa sweaters in an array of colors.

minus the dead chicken by this grandpa’s hand, i’m completly obsessed with this Look book for Italian menswear designer Luca Larenza’s F/W 2010 collection.

the cohesive presentation of the look book and collection was inspired by the classic man and the generational trickle-down effect of the outlook of fashion. according to Larenza, “…the presence of an old model, with the skin worn out by the work and life, is reconnected to a concept of tradition, that goes beyond the modern beauty canons. Especially in the South of Italy the elegance is a value handed down from our ancestors. What remains for sure is the attachment to the roots, to the land and its preciousness. Furthermore it is also a provocation towards the fast fashion, that now rules on the market, and the fast-pace of modern urban lifestyle”.

amazing.

POP

In Video on December 9, 2010 at 12:34 PM

Karl’s muse Baptiste Giabiconi has finally released his first video of his venture into pop stardom.  ”Showtime” features BG on a motorcycle (been there, done that), with big perfect 90′s Johnny Depp hair in dirty tight jeans.  no other man could pull off looking that good while singing this song… or while wearing that much chrome hearts (sorry, Karl).

Anna Della Russo graces the cover of 10 Magazine for their 10th anniversary edition.

she seems to be everywhere lately.. style blogs x 10, her much talked about perfume launch and her own artistic-intensified blog. i for one couldn’t be happier, i have a small to pretty damn large love for this woman.
